Exactly my thoughts! I am not a brand snob although when buying cordless tools youre forced to stay with one make however i look at tools based on make and so far i never went wrong. I dont lime buying from obscure manufacturers/cheap brands as suport for spare parts is poor down the line and may render a tool rather useless few years later! Take erbauers cordless tools, there are no spare parts for their tools bar a few lousy batteries kept in stock by a handfull of suppliers... Thats one reason why i rather buy a used quality tool than a cheap new one...I think most things are fine to vary in quality i do a lot of research before i buy anything and try to buy good quality tools that have been rebranded this has saved me a lot of money.
Corded tools i buy according to how much use it will get but cordless tools is one area where i wouldn't skimp not due to quality but due to the range i chose makita simply because at the time they had what i wanted
There is no point in buying into a cordless brand to find out that it skips a tool thats important to you and each brand has its speacialty
Metabo have a brilliant range it your a metal worker and festool for a carpenter but fairly poor lineup in eachothers fields
