I have been in the vehicle repair trade for 36 years.
I like a pit for HGV work.
In Europe they have "semi pits" for trucks - concrete high edged ramps beside - next to - over a shallow pit. Never seen one in the UK.
I once worked somewhere where they did MOT testing over a pit. This worked OK.
I have my own workshop - we just have two post lifts and full length scissor lifts.
Not sure if I would consider a pit again... There use is in decline (maybe for a good reason)????????????
