I was going to say the same thing. In fact it actually might be quicker than trying to more the shed whole.

Seems the simplest way to me, the only part that is occasionally a problem is you have to remove the capping felt from one side and that can be a pain if it has been there for years, this looks new so shouldn't be an issue.

i moved a 6 x 8 shed last year feather edge yours looks bigger i was only moving it from top to bottem of garden its fairly flat we used 4 round fence posts and moved it even swinging round to set in place

the shed was old but had a very good base edges as id fixed it only 3 years before it flexed and moved a lot with quite a bit of damage from split wood all around the edges if i had to do this again i would screw 3x2 all around all of the edges to strenthen them up at the end of the day it moved and i was not that worried about it as was going to scrap it later in the year but if it was a shed i wanted to keep and in good condition as in yours id do as been said take apart and move it

in the end the shed when took down got given to a mate and its back in service in his garden has been there for half a year and still looks good

we did have an idea of just putting bars screwed to each side of the shed and lift there was 3 of us 2 of us are quite big and fit and we could only just lift it but when it came to walking with it no chance

id near bet if you put the shed on any thing to move it you will hear splitting wood and on that shed pic its looks way to good to damage it

Can you not just unbolt/unscrew into the original sections then rebuild in place?

The roof is screwed down onto the walls, all round, and felted over, so can’t be stripped down. I watched the guys build it.

plenty of space to use 3 stakes. They dont hve to be long, 18" would do. 2/3 in the ground.

I shall see what I can muster. There is a fence with 6” concrete posts around the garden, but Sod’s law the nearest post will be totally in the wrong place.

The roof is screwed down onto the walls, all round, and felted over, so can’t be stripped down. I watched the guys build it......

Unusual, all the ones I have seen the roof is screwed from underneath.
Still, removing felt shouldn't be much of an issue with it being new but that is just the way I would go, I like easy

Well blow me down, there is a concrete fence post EXACTLY at the end of the centre row of slabs, and I just managed to feed a piece of half inch rope around it under the fence.

Off to dads, to see if I can blag the wire winch device.

I don’t think me lifting it apart in panels would be much easier than dragging it wholesale in one piece actually. I grabbed the wire hoist from my dad, plus a couple of 2” tie down straps and my small trolley jack.
The excitement is rising, this could be a major spectator event.

Well, I hang my head in shame. I got all the parts to do the job, emptied it totally, but just trying to lift the shed at a corner or even an end, and the whole thing creaked and groaned and started splintering... it’s made up of half shed size panels just screwed together.

So, now I have to handball all my boxes of junk into the garage, as you can GUARANTEE it will rain tonight, and I’ll have to follow the advice several people gave me already: pull it down into several sections, maybe take the roof off and move each half of the shed in separate sections.

Damn, and I thought it was going so well......

If I just had a couple of 10’ long 4 x 4’s..... and a couple of big guys....

why do you think i said use 3x2s its for that very reason

tilt at the side and yes it will creak until you can slot the 3x2 underneath it

lifting the other side is fun so slide one side over using the 3x2 as a lever side then when it tilts enough slot the other side in

if you want to fasten down the 3x2 then use long screws screw through floor into the 3x2 that locks that side up

then slide back and then fasten other side same way

i would fasten down that 3x2

I don’t have any 3 x 2 x 10’ and not aware of any local places open that will sell me a couple.

The awkward part would be when I get to the other end of the operation, and have to remove the rollers and 3 x 2 etc, as I’ll be hemmed in by fences on 2 sides, plus there will only be loosely seated slabs to lever on and against.

The job would be easy if I had a random stock of timber, hardware and guys around, but it’s just me and a couple of small tools right now.

l just checked, roof does appear to screw from underneath, but it will have to come off in two pieces as too big for little old me to carry, so felt will need to be undone.

I’ve now taken all my wooden racking frame out, and when it goes back in I’ll raise the top shelf an inch so it’s tall enough for my storage boxes, a little faux pa I made originally.

you will get it sorted , now you know how strong it is/isnt , change of tack and away . Damn shame nobody can come and give you a hand for a few hours eh.

as said that looks a nice shed better to take apart and rebuild than break any thing

It’s currently right outside the daughters bedroom window, (bungalow) so I’d like to shove it out onto the grass so the patio can one day be tidied up and used. All the slabs need levelling and sorting out.

Plus, I plan to build a wooden workshop next to where the storage shed is going.

so what materials do you have

and if not you would need 4 lengths of 3x2 from b&q or where ever

you need them to slide but also able to wheel your shed

i jacked this beam up on my own and moved it into place before the wall even came down as had to be in place couldnt swing it around after

you need to get the 3x2 under each side of it to do this

you need push your shed offside of where its going

to do this you need to lift each base leg up slot an 1" wood under each leg once all done then do it again so then its 2" higher so you can get your 3x2 under the shed

then pushing the shed back over you can get most sheds to tip other way

or just jack up all 4 corners all your choice really but take all day doing it theres no rush even if it takes 2 days makes no difference

.....or I may end up in B&Q queuing for wood.....

I’ve moved all my ‘wettable’ stuff into the garage, so like you say, I can take my time tomorrow. Or the next day. I had hoped to get it done by nightfall tonight, but discovering just how floppy and flexible the shed is put paid to that plan.
