In short no you cant
Pete - makes sense yeah so that circuit should be easy to wire into a vfd although I've not seen what pre built options they have for something like that

Hi Steve
What size hp motor does your lathe have fitted? And what size vfd inverter do you have fitted now?
Do you find any loss of torque or massive difference in speeds compared to what the chart says each gear should give you say +/- 10 like in your YouTube video?
Thanks
Marc
Have you opened the cover and had a look at the actual connections? Might be something very basic that you can do to make it inverted compatible.
Hi Penfold
I pulled the motor apart yesterday to have a look at that and the other ends of the 3 wires are well tucked away amongst the windings so I didn't do it for fear of scrapping a good motor
Not sure where in Essex you are, but a company local to us is one of the few who i would recommend.I called a local motor repair specialist and they said they would not do it either for fear of damaging the windings
