Hi Neil, Thanks for your feedback. I am sorry that Steveweld didn’t react quick enough, this is not a typical experience, but it’s also a real shame that as soon as it was apparent that you were unhappy with the response that you didn’t contact me directly to discuss other options before placing an order. I don’t know of the spec of the Lorch machine that you received pricing for so I can’t comment on the pricing except to say that the RRP for the Kemppi machine you have purchased is in excess of £12,000 so if you managed to get one for less than £4,300 then I don’t think there would of been anything we could of done anyway. https://www.unitedwelding.co.uk/kemppi-x8-pulse-mig-welder-500amp-415v--4257-p.asp ***EDIT*** Having looked at the price range of the MicorMigs, £4,300 for a ready to weld water-cooled package, in my opinion is not as high as you feel it is, but this would also depend on which front panel and which features were enabled. I would be very grateful if you could forward me a copy of the email to lorch.uk@lorch.eu so I can check for sure. However for your own piece of mind, I would also double check that it is really the 500 amp X8 machine that you have ordered because I have came against this machine many times since its launch at various end users and I have never seen or heard of a 500 amp X8 machine for anything like the pricing that you mention (Less than £4,300). For that price is could certainly more likely to be the older style Fastmig, unless they have some really attractive pricing available in your area by way of a promotion or something, but its certainly worth double checking just incase. Enjoy your new machines when they arrive and I wish you the best of luck for the future.
These were my thoughts exactly too Matt. An x8 is what, the equivalent of an S5? And as you say United are advertising it for £12k. I would say the OP has been sold the old black fastmig.
Heard of a X8 500 amp quoted in the Birmingham area today for over £12,000. It would be really interesting to see if the OP did manage to get a X8 for below £4,300.00.
