Build a basic timber shelter, then put one of these inside https://www.airflow-uk.co.uk/product/bike-airchamber/ to keep the damp out.
It's definitely the damp that's putting me off as most of what I'd store would be in metal tinsBuild a basic timber shelter, then put one of these inside https://www.airflow-uk.co.uk/product/bike-airchamber/ to keep the damp out.
Thanks very much for this, sbf. This probably looks like the most sensible approach rather than trying to find something ready made - there does happen to be a garage full of tools right next door, after all@skotl Weather behaved, so as promised......

It measures 8' x 3'9" front to back, roof is 8' x 4' tri-wall polycarbonate sheet [bronze finish, although you can't tell from the pics] like this https://www.roofingmegastore.co.uk/...type/multiwall/triple-wall-polycarbonate.html
The staining you can see just inside the door is mostly off my feet, off the mower after washing , or rain driven in past the wall & upright/door jamb. I have a few tins in the wall cupboard and they've survived over the years. The small blue 'linn bins' you can see have screws, springs, bolts, nuts etc and no problem with them going rusty.
If you're concerned about damp, run a power supply through from the garage and make a wooden box to hold the tins & leave one of these [other suppliers are available] running all the time - safe, and cost next to nothing to run. I used to have two when working at the golf course, one to prevent a water supply in a metal shed/workshop from freezing [tea is important ] and the other in an old wardrobe to store chemicals. Did the job just fine.

Good luck with however you proceed.

You could surprise your mrs and tell her your moving to a place with a geet big garage and a house attatched.
You mean like this there's a thread on the build I did somewhere.I'd be looking at something like this, maybe made from pallet racking?
Polythene sheets, covered in Yorkshire boarding/palisade fencing to provide weatherproofing

Fort William is far wilder than Yorkshire. Still going survived untill now from December.Sort of - but pallet *racking* (the steel stuff) to provide the framework.
Then poly to provide the waterproofing.
Then boarded on the outside to provide wind resistance.
A bit less "temporary" than yours.
(I don't know what the weather's like in the Highlands, but that wouldn't last 6 months in Yorkshire weather )
