hiya every one,
I am becky and new to the world of welding (hence I am here )
I would like to learn or seek the service of one of you guys to achieve my project aim.
I am building a scale version of a mobile crane (see title) it isn't small as it's going to be 1250mm long on the road. the boom should reach just under 5000mm.
but I am stuck. I need to make the boom + sections. these are Oviform shape. which is basically 1/3 of a pipe along the bottom and a square pipe along the top.
I was thinking of cuting a pipe and square pipe to size and welding them together. there are 6 sections sliding into each other.
approximately 800mm long and the largest H 93 x W 85 mm.
what do you think. Is it possible, how would you go about it and what sort of welding would be best to do the job.
Many thanks everyone
Becky
