meh not even close Ive broken a couple of lidl ones no where near as nice a forging, chunkier ( weaker metal?) Rothenburgers dont "wear out" they "wear in"

The ones that got nicked were worn in just right, I could set the size one handed while squeezed into a cylinder cupboard or reaching under the floor.

Current ones are about 3 years old and not quite right yet

I only use knipex ones paid 9 quid each for them new so got 4 pairs. slim and solid

I picked up a Parkside rotary tool kit at Lidl today for £19.99 and also one of the 276 piece accessory kits; good for the price, as I need to replace my old Dremel. The accessory kit has a lot of its contents hidden under the removable centre section. The hanging stand lets you set the tool up with the flexible shaft like an expensive Forden tool.

Absolutely, the flexi shaft that comes with this kit is a bonus too,.....to think how much we all paid for the basic Dremel tool back in the day.

Here in South Wales, there were more than half a dozen in the Neath store when we were there this afternoon; but that doesn't really tell you anything as it was about six hours ago.

EDIT: My wife said ……. to phone Lidle and they will tell you where the closest store is that has them in stock, and she thinks they will hold one for you if you ask.

I bought one of the helmets & I've been using it over the weekend. I'll do a full review of it soon but I would strongly recommend it as it is great! Very clear yellow view, even clearer than my very expensive Miller digital elite though the viewing window is smaller. Shade 9-13 plus grinder mode, adjustable sensitivity & delay so suitable for tig, shade 4 in grinder mode so it can be used for plasma cutting!

Nae so sure about the "high quality carbon steel" but they seem ok, and hard to go wrong at £1.66 a pop...

I have a set, don't expect much of them, just haven't the same clamping force of a genuine vice grip. But they work ok & you don't feel as bad when you accidentally weld them to the thing they are holding. Not that I would ever do this.

they might be small and weak but at that price you can have loads of em!

ive welded a few where the fixed jaw enters the handle

I got a set of the swivel magnets, they are extremely if not too strong, the cashier had to ask me to prise them off the conveyor. I will find uses for them but they may be too strong for thin metal welding.

I bought one of these last time they had them, it were useless, wouldn't cut anywhere near a straight line, the blade just wouldn't run against it's roller, it kept jumping to one side, there just seemed to be too much play/movement in the thing, I took it back and got a refund in the end, shame because overall I liked the tool.
