Reassuring to know that it'll be safe to use. I had no immediate intentions of buying a plasma cutter, but only on the basis of cost. However, at €120 and covered by a Lidl 3 year warranty, it's a no-brainer. It'd be rude not to!

Me neither, but the pressure is growing for that price - need a bandsaw to replace the JET crap I have!
I used one of those to strip an epoxy floor coating off prior to re coating it. It was 110v, not air & it was hired in for the job after trying other methods to strip the floor without success.
A strange tool indeed, a cross between a jack hammer & a spade but for doing that job it worked brilliantly. Also commonly used to strip off wall & floor tiles.
I know I'll be waiting at their door at 8am to buy one. For some reason our local stores sometimes only get very few of items like that so you have to be quick to get one!
If there does happen to be a load of them & they go on clearance you could buy another one as a standby. If your original one dies outside the warranty you will have another one to replace it, you are never going to get another at that price!
Possibly like others I want but don’t necessarily need a plasma cutter and can’t justify spending lots on. I had been looking at a cut 60 pilot arc on eBay which seems to use IGBT transistors rather than MOSFET’s that the cut 50 seem to have. My only concern with the Lidl one is lack of pilot arc but do I need if I’ll only use on clean steel? Cut thickness is not an issue on either Lidl/cut50/cut60 doubt I would ever exceed any of their capabilities.

I would like to see one of those in action, looks lighter than the 60 lb jackhammer I used to dig out the basement in my parents house when I was young. Yeah, we kids were tough back in the 1960s.

An electrically operated one sounds like a better option as I'm sure a large volume compressor would be required for the one mentioned. Think I'll look into it, as I have about a hundred feet of narrow and shallow drainage ditches to dig. The soil is almost as hard as concrete to try and dig with a pick.

Having got a metal bandsaw in Aldi a few months back, the relative quietness and neatness, as opposed to the noise and crap associated with a chop saw is a game changer. Slower, but still very much worth it for me.
There's an obvious limit to the size of material that can be cut as opposed to the chop saw, but the vast majority of what I need to cut is currently covered with the bandsaw.
