PS In my defence M'laud aston hill is a dual carriageway!!
I did get a bit worried at one point coz I didnt have a horn to blow!! but I could shout though---- coz it has no cab .I bet it wernt just the tyres making a funny sound!!

Might be like this Bedford spring brake. You push back the rubber boot and put a spanner on the actuator rod to release the brakes.
Just cut em then! If there is any grief just knock the drums off and take all the gubbins out (linings/adjusters etc) and the brakes wont stick on when parked up
Good point! The bigger conversions iv'e seen they take the diff out and make a blanking plate , cut the half shafts and bolt the flange back on because the wheel bearings still need oil(unless you grease them)Are you not taking the drums off and taking the halfshafs out anyway?
