Letter punches

I've not read all the other replies but I always find when punching letters and numbers it's easier to get them even and square if I work in reverse. If I work forward the letters and my hand obscure the previous stamp but if I start at the end they are clearly visible.

One thing I hate is that no matter how many times I look at the letter, line the punch up, then look again, right letter, right orientation, check several more times..... I always balls up on at least one letter, wrong way round usually.

Yes I used the 1 as an I.
This will teach me to put them all back in alphabetical and numerical order.
I need glasses.

I did try a way to line them but not too space.
I held them up to the piece of angle then ground off the angle.
Still not perfect but.

I've got a set of Pryor 'type set' punches, the letters/ numbers go into a holder, guaranteeing alignment of the letters, use a straight edge to make sure it's not wonky.

That looks very good for a punch set. You will struggle to get it any better tbh!
