AC isnt polarity dependant so you can connect the wires either way round

The pos & neg are the output. Shove you're wires from the TX into the AC terminals.

Possibly three @Pete. so can I have a shopping list? The burgmaster drill has a knackered lamp and that too is 24v ac, just ripped out the guts of the lamp and attacked the plastic shroud with a blowtorch to accept another one of those 24v Led lamps, only down side of the Burgmaster transformer is its only 24v so may end up with too many of the volts when rectified. Is there a way around this?

It’s another one of those gems that came via auction from the F1 lot for virtually nothing, I used to get the nod when they were selling gear off. The bidding was always in house between interested employees so I would get a mate to bid and square him up later.

They are pretty rare old machines here. Very very clever, were absolutely cutting edge when they came about in the early 20th century.
