Why does that work?
I find it frees up anything thats sticky , from valves to rings , and that the oil also helps out any stiff metering diaphragms , often its enough just to persuade things that they actually want to work again for another year ,, nut then again , I run two stroke oil in just about everything I own , always have , and always will ,, I used to run a lorry with a stage on it , and you never actually knew what you were buying as diesel , red stripped to white was the norm about the border , 2t oil made up for the missing lube , lots of cars suffered from high pressure pump and injector issues , I never had any probs at all .

I bought this Lawn King with the Briggs & Stratton 3.5hp engine for £20 off Freeads, The chap kept saying it would need a service but he fired it up, It started easily and ran smoothly!
I got home and had to have a go!, Halfway through doing the lawn, The engine started making a strange noise so I let go of the deadmans handle and it stopped- DEAD!! Tried pulling the cord but it had siezed solid!
There was no oil in it, I put some oil in but thought it was too late, Gave it a while to cool down and the tried the cord, It was very stiff to pul but on the second go it eased up and started with a puff of smoke!
That was back in 2015, It still starts eaver time on the second pull with a puff of blue smoke after four or five pumps of the primer!!, It's a joy to use!!
I bought this Atco about forty years ago, The gear for the self drive had worn down badly and wouldn't work so I set to and made one, It was a bit of a struggle to braze it on to the boss but got there eventually with a plumbers propane blowlamp! (Should have taken it to work and used the Oxy Acetylene!), Anyhow, It worked for quite a few years then wouldn't start, No spark so the magneto system had packed in, I also have a Victa that was a cracker!, The plastic carb had a crack in it so it would only run on a fast tickover, If I tried putting full throttle on it would cut out!!- Gave £2 at bootsale for it, It wouldn't start as for some reason the tank was full of grass!
Cleared it out and it started easily!

I used to have a Qualcast Panther, It may even be in one of the sheds still, It's a 12v machine that my dad brought me from out of the scrap, I put a clapped out battery on that would get three quarters of the lawn cut before it needed charging again!
Eventually I found a new in the box Gel battery, The type from those buggies that elderly people use, Charged it up on my car battery charger and it lasted the whole year!!
When it was retired in to the shed, I pulled the lever around three years later and it still worked!!
I'm going to try and find it npow to see if that battery is kaput!!

I had a Victa like that but gave up and sold it due to the expense of parts. Graft the Briggs motor onto the ally deck when the steel one rusts through, that would make a good mower.
jam the blower on the intake side , sort of supercharged ... way to go , think how fast you will be able to cut through the cable feeding the '' super dooper charger '' that way ,, before doing a Paul Danniels vanishing trick , puff of smoke and your gone ... epic.
