YouTube will be your friend. I think a subscriber by the name of Tubalcain does one.
I’ll give them a look

I need a few repeatablI made an ally tray that fixes to the carriage and moves with it, it catches the chips and I just brush them off.
There's room under the chuck so it doesn't hit the headstock before the tool hits the jaws...
It's sometimes possible to turn a ball using your compound, depending on what type you have.
Dunno. What's the material Ali?
What's the finish like.
If it's cutting well it should be obvious your end.
Re ways. Can get bellows but I just clean up as I go. Have felt wipers on my saddle which help.
Looks like its rubbing. As above it is not easy to see the finish on the video, 3mm on aluminium should be easily do able. I have done deeper cuts on EN8 steel by judicious angling of the carbide tip, mind you the swarf looks odd.

That is about a 1/4 inch of the diameter in a pass, not bad for a little old Drummond M.
Probably was, during the cut the edge of the insert was hitting the work first rather than the tip, set up was all wrong but it worked progressively better the hotter the tip and work got. No horrible noises or vibration and the insert lived to fight another day and not a bad finish for a rough cut so I can put up with the pencil sharpener chips.Looks like its rubbing.
