Ok no not yet. Sadly I was busy but I was hoping to get something ordered for Monday.Did you try running faster? If your current tool is cutting ok, looks like it is, theres no advantage of cbn inserts.
I cant say about other styles of inserts, theres a big trade off between sharpness and durability.
The finish your getting tells me that look like the blunter sort. A light rub on diamond wheel may improve the cut, speed you can push it and finish.
That never materialised either.
The guy local to me has no R8 facemills but has some 17mm stub ones listed.
I was hoping for speed a trip to him for a cheap head ( he usually sells quality old stuff at well below Chinese prices but I can get it quickly.
Problem I have is he does not have, deal in , or know about tips and geometry.
I was then hoping for a trip to gloster tooling for an R8 arbour and/or face mill early monday BUT they appear to only list TPKN so....I am inclined to still go but to get some tips to see if they are better than the ones I am using. As they are unknown quality and type. Although knowing @Matt-H they won't be crap.
