It all depends, really a CNC with tools already defined and offsets save or with a toolsetter for quick tool setup then one offs are usually quicker than on a manual. Having said that I do more on my manual lathe than the CNCIt's all the cost of set up, on a cnc, if local firms need one bit, then the local chap with a conventional lathe is at a premium it would seem.
That's round here.
Lathe work, machining hourly rate, plus whatever costs are involved to tooling.


On the face of it, if its only boring out 48 to 53mm on an existing sleeve at length, then I can't see how it would take longer than 1 hour each. But I'm maybe not seeing something here.
