Mine does 35plus mpg with a diesel and has done for may years. No idea how much it's saved but it is probably quite a few pennies.Unless you're doing big miles stick with the original petrol; while fuel's the price it is diesel doesn't make much sense.




As for the petrol idea, if you want to pay 50p a mile then do it. It's under £1 a litre while the supermarkets are having a price war but it will not stay low forever.
