And most of the engines and gear boxes are good for a few hundred thousand miles Remember when 80k was dangerous territory
Still people quote 100,000 MOTORWAY miles as if makes a difference
I wouldn't bother looking att seat bolster wear.I repair loads that have only done low milage, especialy volvos, mercedes, actually lots of european cars.
I've decided to also look at Suzuki vitaras, they seem to be slightly cheaper and so I could get more for my money.
Anyone got experience of them on a 07 to 10 plate?
Now some don't know this but I was a car trader for a few years. That's what I mean. Don't need an estimate of mileage, that's written on the odometer. But the number of times a driver gets in/out relative to that mileage helps make a decision about the sort of life a car's had. Fewer longer trips or more numerous, shorter trips. Seats wear faster on the latter.
Renault FQ9
I've managed to find manual for the engine but it would be nice to have one for the whole car.
I'm trying to work out if it has more than one fuel filter, some sources on the web mention an additional filter housed in the fuel tank but my local motor factors says there is only one listed?![]()
Quote from one of the Suzuki forums...
I have just spent the most frustrating Sunday of my life on my back in my driveway trying to change the oil filter in my 2009 DDis. I'd heard that it was difficult since the Suzuki engineers had used the Renault Laguna F9Q engine and squeezed it in to the engine space, turning it from north to south. (To find the oil filter stand facing the engine compartment and its on the right of the engine block halfway down, almost invisible to the naked eye from above but slightly visible from below)
It drives the gearbox from the crank pulley!![]()
Yes it is mounted longitudinalI thought the F9Q engine was designed for transverse mounting and Suzuki had fitted it longitudinally? hence the access problems.
