Land Rover Defender 110 Rebuild

My sons 110 has the bonnet release handle on a bracket on the left the drivers side footwell, sort of above the clutch pedal area, on the bit that slopes up at about 45 degrees from memory. Then the cable goes though a grommet in the vertical part directly in front. I hope that makes sense to you & it's the info you need. It's from memory & it's the best I can do at the moment. It's a pity as he's just left to drive home, else I could have given you a picture.

Ive got to do the cable on mine soon. At present, i dont know how ill open the bonnet if it gets properly closed.

Ill pay attention to the routing, but, as above, it ends up at about where your left shin is, or there abouts, on the back of the bulkhead.

Dont know where it goes from there, but, at the other end, i think it comes out from the drivers side wing, and across to the center (release catch)

Thanks guys, I know where the handle goes as I have that in situe, the issue is because I fitted aftermarket panel replacements, they're not fitted with the hole I need to thread it through. I've just asked a friend to take some pics for me so hopefully I may be able to sort that tomorrow if he has a chance to photograph it.

Unfortunately, if you know what to do, it's possible to release the bonnet from the outside

I bought YRM but they aren't 100%. Most annoyingly I've realised the throttle mounts are in the wrong place! To avoid making the mount again I'm going to make an adapter plate for that.

Unfortunately, if you know what to do, it's possible to release the bonnet from the outside

There are ways around this as I found out earlier!

Yes I drove it outside. It's been an absolute pain in the bum day but it runs, who cares about anything else there was an earth fault in the last video and the crash switch is playing up but now I've Sussed it everything's good!

I can't help but stand back and just look at it, I don't think I've ever been so proud of myself! I sill can't believe how far it's come!
P.s I kept one promise about letting you hear it run before the 100th page
