Yep. Have at it! That's how I got mine of my manual box. Great stress reliever as long as you don't break anything including bones.

Leave the nut on loosely, it protects the thread from miss hits and stops the arm flying about once it lets go.

Hi everyone,
Not done anything yet but have a plan for Wednesday maybe a bit of Thursday too if I have time
im going to bring it back inside and really start getting on with it again, putting it on the grass was the worst thing I could've done for motivation.

Great work. I do not know if anybody has mentioned this but there is a government disposal unit that is clearing out a lot of land rovers and spares and equipment. If you go on the website www.bidspotter.co.uk and select the Timed Auction tab. It is the first in the list. It runs 365days a year. The reserves seem to be a might high but the stuff offered is sometimes unused out of the stores. The price on the hammer plus vat is the amount you pay as there are no auction fees on top. I have seen engines and gearboxes and pallets of spares as well all the add ons you can put on a landie. Might be worth a scan. The lots only run for a week or so and there is an ever changing selection.

Well everyone, as I said here's the first update in a while Let's get started 
Haven't got masses done but did what I can
Started by jet washing my engine, obviously I blocked all the holes to prevent any water damage.
Then removed sump along with the old flywheel and clutch
Cleaned the sump out and scraped off the gasket surfice Fitted the sump with a new crankshaft seal
Removed the brass? Spigot bearing. Used the pullers I made when I was doing my apprenticeship saves myself a load of money and made a while set
Yes I know my stamping is less desirable, I'm much better now
fitted the new flywheel, I was head scratching with how to lock it up to torque it up then remember I could put a bar on the other side of the crank and rested it on the floor while I torqued it all correctly
Unfortunately I found a snapped bolt in the manifold, it would explain the little whistling noise it had
Finally after replacing the thrust bearing I began re fitting the engine
Yes you guessed what's next. Engine in
Not bolted it in fully yet, have to go get some bolts, but it's in finally and I don't plan on taking it out
I should add I still have to do work on the engine but it'll be allot easier now it's in, I'm going to get all the pulleys and steel tubes for collant shot blasted then I can paint them. And fit new bearings and belts. I have a brand new fan blade as well.
