It happens. Just potter away at something/anything. It'll usually get you back on form eventually.

got out today went to shops got 3 cases of lager went in the garage cleaned and filled all my oil cans rounded all; my drills up and only a couple missing . beadblasted some chuck jaws sharpened some screwdrivers and a general muck on . feel much better for it as it was quite warm in garage

It's crazy...I have been hankering for some free time to get projects done, house sorted, garage sorted., Patio sorted etc etc. But for now I really don't have the inclination or desire.
For the first time in my life I am scared. And I feel I am being selfish.

Nope. The small end was so badly mashed I couldn't see a way to centre it correctly. I did find a way, though.

A guy once told me that if the grass is greener it can often show where someone has buried a body or a cow has made a mess, I found that if you look at the grass you are one and see some greener in the distance you should walk to where you are looking and look back, i found where i was was now greener think think is to do with lighting and colour density.

The little end and big end have to align axially so turn a stub to hold the big end and clamp the stud to your face plate then support the over-hanging little end with a packer and clamp.

Google "ITA method" - it was used in schools in Dorset where I was born . . . roll on 1978 and we moved north to West Yorks where it wasn't used . . . one confused 8 yr old. Took me until around 1982/3 to get me head around "normal" English.

I was taught ITA in Stafford in the early 70's and in my opinion it is child abuse. Spending two years being taught how to read/write/spell only to be told it's pony-poop and you have to relearn everything again.

On the topic of school until 18 my wife is a secondary science teacher. She is of the opinion that you should be able to leave school at 14 so long as you start an (real) apprenticeship and continue with English, maths and life skills on a one day a week college release. She sees so many kids wasting four years of their life (and those others in the class) for no reason when having a job and interaction with the real life would help them grow and develop. By the time they leave at 18 they are habituated into just messing around and being told they are useless. Mandatory education to 18 and the drive for everyone to have a degree is a tool of the state to lower unemployment by 2-5% by removing people from the job pool.

My mother was a primary school teacher, a new head started & insisted on the ITA system being taught, she decided to retire at that point. My son could read well before starting school, the school was still persevering with it, so we had send him to another school for a couple of years, it would just have too confusing to change from English to ITA to English again, also there were no books in the library for my son to read.

Ok daily update
I was on the phone to my wife for about 20 mins earlier as the Nurse update I phoned the ward for was "she is doing ok" however she sounded better than yesterday.
Her back is hurting a little but that might be from the IV antibiotics she is being given. Still no news on swabs but her name is not Johnson or Cummings.

Ok good news and bad news
Speaking to a Nurse yesterday afternoon she said Jackie was their star patient and they would be sorry to see her go home. Which could be quite quickly once her bloods come down. As I mentioned she was swabbed for Covid 19 and has today tested positive . I am not sure if this is good or bad but I am hoping she had a mild case and her low
immune system allowed it to affect her more.
Anyway on to the good news. The nurse I spoke to said testing positive was not necessarily going to affect when she could be released. But I need to phone this afternoon to speak to a doctor to clarify the situation. Bonus is she is better than yesterday and sitting out in a chair eating breakfast when I phoned.
