hello first off, as a new joiner here!!
im an inspection engineer, and have lots of reading... but when reading through ASME 9 i have found, its easy enough to find answer's etc... but when reading the full thing the compilation of how it is, makes for slow reading. for EG
QW-409 electrical characteristics
QW-409.1 - an increase to heat input, or an increase in volume of weld deposit per unit lenght or weld, over that qualified. The increase maybe measured by( V x A x 60) /travel speed, OR b) volume of metal weld=an increase in bead size, or a decrease of weld bead per electrode.
it carrys on to say the requirment for measuring the heat input, or an increase in volume of weld deposit per unit lenght does not apply when the WPS is qualified with PWHT above theupper transformation temp or solution aneal after welding austenitic materials.
.
.
now just to the next paragraph QW409..2 states - a change from spray arc, to globular arc or pulsed arc to short ciruite, or vice verse
.
.
the next paragraph states QW409.3 the deletion or pulsing current to DC power source
_
So my question is how are these parts meant to be read? as QW409..2 makes no sense on its own means nothing, same as QW409.3 regarding the DC power source.
thanks in advance is you can help, im probable being blind but they must relate to the first paragraph (409.1)
