that’s the one. There was a recall to get a deflector plate put in.

The wing mirror loom wires on other models was also an ‘in’. There was a spate in Essex of cheeky chappies taking the plastic off and fitting a Reed switch overnight then emptying the van. Magnet in the right place popped the locks when the insurance bought new tools.

When I worked for the feds we got loads of these on briefings. Most are / were classified for intel. I remember one officer got a disciplinary because his advice to a victim was to put the windows out on a van after it had been emptied with keyless entry. No sign of break in means insurance won’t pay out. He was trying to be helpful but the victim got the wrong end of the stick and reported him!

I've always said to the wife if my van gets done il make sure there's sign of entry. That's why I have deadlocks

My Suzuki is keyless entry/start so I have a Disklock that fits over the steering wheel, I've yet to see a relay box that can unlock that!

Ours is a 12 year old sx4 in silver................no ones going to nick that.

Its a sad modern world and i have a dead switch or secret start method on most of our vehicles, but on the moggy we use a disc lock and if it is left on a carpark i take out the rotor arm plus a few other things

Don't be so sure .. spare parts must be getting rarer and rarer by the hour . Check out the older spares offered on Facebook Market place & gumtree as well as eBay

Steal to commit other crime in like shop lifting sprees, fuel drive offs etc
Then burn it.

Like I say horses for courses. They don’t nick 20 year old JCBs to sell, they nick them because it’s easy and you can use them to rip ATMs out.

I accidentally left my suzuki swift unlocked with the passenger window open pavement side on a busy road in the cityfor a week a while ago, all I ended with was a damp seat where it rained.This is devon, car crime has at least ten years to catch up.My cars never locked when I'm at work, just left in the works car park ready to go.

In Alberta they warn you never to leave your car unlocked in August or someone will fill it with courgettes. Apart from that, my car was never locked. Who'd nick it? They'd have to leave one behind as everyone drives everywhere and whatever they left would be better than mine!
