After a lifetime of nipped fingers from badly fitting keys, I haven't got a single keyed one in use. I strip the keyless chucks ,clean and molylube.

Here's an option I've used for keyed chucks which works a treat, and great for use as file handle's also. Golf balls, drilled 3/4 the way through and slightly undersized. The rubber core grips tight, but wear safety glasses while drilling as occasionally one might encounter an old one with a liquid core under pressure which can squirt out with some force.

Saw that in my feed too. Interesting idea but overengineered for the task. Defeats the object of having a keyless chuck too.

Not totally as you can get away with your hand for most drills etc.

The tool seems a nice idea, although the tightening operation can easily be done by other means.; and Just like a nut cracker, there's many variations of the tool to do the same job, but someone will always have a favourite one. The knurling on the tool in the video may not be necessary, but then neither is fancy engraving to embellish the look of many things; its just a nice finishing touch. Always interesting to see someone's idea of building a better mouse trap, as the saying goes.

But the hand operates the side lever, not the main tool body.

OK so for you keyless chuck fans out there: is this true??

Certainly doesn't work on my little battery drill chucks but they are the typical plastic friction type, not the all metal construction in that vid.
