Breathing in the air.
Sounds mental but now I'm feeling a bit better it makes me feel good just coming in here and sitting down even if I'm doing nothing.
The smell of oil, rubber, petrol and Kid Rock on the radio, it settles my soul.
I love my workshop. I love my flat too though. Little difference between the two.
The workshop is a sanctuary. Mine's also a dead zone for phone reception, so it can't get much better. I go out to my workshop most days & evenings even if im working on the boat. Its where i keep my tools & stuff. I try & keep it tidy but its hard. I have a 1966 Hacker Sovereign Radio in there, its permanently tuned to Radio Caroline, favorite Dj at the moment is Johnny reece on wednesday & saturday afternoons. He plays an eclectic mix of the most way out stuff you will ever hear on any radio station.
Great to listen to when doing some fine woodwork or engineering.
I was out there today putting the first coat of french polish on a pistol case im building for a muzzle loading target pistol. All fine Honduras mahogany & brass fittings, just got the lock to fit then its lining it with holly green baize.
My workshop keeps me sane!

I forgot to say, I have one office chair in there next to the computer that drives the laser cutter also two nice bar stools. Story behind these is that after the covid lockdowns the yacht club got rid of their bar stools as they couldnt have the usual suspects sat on them breathing over the bar staff. Two came my way.
The same usual suspects often wistfully whinge "Why cant we have our bar stools back just like in the olden days?" The fact was they were anti social as most members didnt like looking at a row of backs & then couldnt get to the bar. When i hear these winges i permit myself a little smirk as i get to sit on one every day!
