I've often wondered whether it's feasible to gut a blown charger like this, leaving just the case and contacts and then run a cable to a different make charger say a Makita. Can't imagine the Li-ion battery technology is much different between (top) makes.

No good if constantly moving from site to site and I probably wouldn't go out and leave such a lash up unattended...

well i changed the mosfet out for a new one and it blew the 3amp fuse so i guess what its bin time

Try a new fuse first! They do wear out and it probably almost blew when you toasted that chip.

Unlikely because when one thing goes it can start a chain reaction but worth a try for the sake of a fuse.
