Anything and everything really- steel panels, GRP panels.. I have patio heaters which I use to dry and warm the substrate and ensure its warm enough during application, flash off and perhaps for a while after application but I've had bad experiences with automotive epoxy primers taking an age to harden even in temps near or above the minimum temp. Mipa EP has been the best of the bunch but I still wouldn't want to use it in the depths of winter. I'm happy to fork out on electricity to ensure proper dry application and flash off but it would be nice to find something which is actually rated to cure properly in ambient temps. There are epoxy mastics which will cure in -5c so it should be possible to find a surfacer which will cure in cold temps.whats it for ? i warm the product and panel , then stand around and keep it warm until i get bored and my stuff goes off okay , not good to you if doing a massive job admitedly
Nice one but I have some already! It does indeed cure in really cold temps but I need a surfacer with similar cold weather curing abilityJust choose winter grade in the drop down. https://www.smlpaints.co.uk/products/jotamastic-87
I have never used it on cars - people like @Dcal are the experts on that!
Ahh. Well for surface finish they do say to use a pu or acrylic topcoat. I personally use Jotun Hardtop. Better finish and easier to apply. There are several different types. The Polysiloxanes are also good. The Hardtop comes in all 3 varieties!Nice one but I have some already!
