You won't be disappointed, I grew up in SA and its just as good. Wash it down with a stoney ginger beerI’ve gone for the savannah stuff, better taste alright as I’ve spent a bloody fortune
Not really any different afaik its just the marinade/ spices that differ reallyI used to sell real jerky (as in proper dried stuff not the junk you get in supermarkets) but the ROI was rubbish when you considered the amount of work (and being jerky had to be best quality beef as no far allowed) Mine was oak smoked and spiced with all sorts. The key thing was getting it dry, Biltong on the other hand I never tried as Jerky was enough work. If you want to try some random meats you can do worse than https://cowleysfinefoods.co.uk/
Cowleys is good stuff. He has a sense of humour too, check out "my brittle pony" or the rabbit one, "watership doom". I like his old fashioned buccaneers jerky though, it's gorgeous.I used to sell real jerky (as in proper dried stuff not the junk you get in supermarkets) but the ROI was rubbish when you considered the amount of work (and being jerky had to be best quality beef as no far allowed) Mine was oak smoked and spiced with all sorts. A 100 watt bulb in a 2x 2x 2 foot square drying box left on for a weekor so till the weight of the meat is well reduced by evaporative losses to about ( IIRC ? ) 30% is a cheap way to do long term safe effective drying .I used to sell real jerky (as in proper dried stuff not the junk you get in supermarkets) but the ROI was rubbish when you considered the amount of work (and being jerky had to be best quality beef as no far allowed) Mine was oak smoked and spiced with all sorts. Martin is a bit of a character, that's for sure He was a re-enactor, at Cosmeston medieval village, which is how we met him. He has worked really hard to build his business up. His fruit leathers are very tasty as well.I used to sell real jerky (as in proper dried stuff not the junk you get in supermarkets) but the ROI was rubbish when you considered the amount of work (and being jerky had to be best quality beef as no far allowed) Mine was oak smoked and spiced with all sorts.
