You can, like you can make salami.Can you make it? Or is that not the point of the thread?
Can't beat good biltong. I remember at sufend air show years ago meeting 2 suf African lads pulled a lump out of his backpack and a proper knife cut it up in the pub people would pi22 there panties now.
Biltong is easy to make. It’s also easy to see if it’s no good. If it goes mouldy, you didn’t get it right. Never had that issue. It’s when muppets that don’t know what they are doing decide to make it ,and in their wisdom decide to use less salt than required,that you run into problems. It’s made with vinegar, salt and saltpetre, so if you get botulism you really must have cocked up the recipe.My sister buys it from South Africans in the village diy stuff. Not sure id want to risk it
