!! For everyone !!

This trojan is a fasec type system slowdown trojan/virus, download or obtain "Avast" and install.
Run a boot time scan and move all detected files to the "chest".
Log back into windows and update and scan again, this time intensely...

I have "MBan" anti-malware for anyone who is having further difficulty with their pc and can't fix it, I can also provide the antivirus files directly if you cannot download...

I have always run Avast, never had a problem with it, always seems to find the nasties

This one's a nasty little bleeder attached to a pdf , once on causes "denial" of service.
Similar to the one mentioned on the other forum earlier in the thread but not quite as bad, just really annoying....

Would doing a system restore from the bios get rid of it. I had to do it once when a nasty would'nt let me boot (kind man at the local computer shop told me how to do it)

Not really, if it's resident it needs to be removed otherwise it will just "reactivate" until it's removed...

Update:

Due to the services of Omniata and Wozzah, the computer has been saved from the flower bed! Your help is much appreciated lads, it's nice to think that someone is willing to help in times of trouble(!). Sounded like something nasty trying to upset my computer.
The missus is also happy you've managed to fix it and saved us hours of shouting in PC World. She does wonder why Facebook doesnt work..but that's great too!
Once again - thanks very much for your help, and as i say - let me know what i can do to return the favour.

Not sure yet Simon, 17" screen, decent speed intel core2duo and big hard drive are the critera
Trouble is, there's very similar specs about but some trade off a smaller hard drive for more memory and vice-versa, I'd like more on both!
