The newer stuff yes.
@Robotstar5 - The supply cables may or may not need RCD...but the OUTLET itself needs RCD protection if conceivably used by an "ordinary" person in a domestic install
That much huh? I think I can put up with an extension leadTo put it in perspective
Metal clad double sockets are ~£6-£10 each
Garage box...£40-£80
Cable...depends on length
Prob Day / 2 days to install and certify it
Day rate can be anything from £180-£300 for a sparky depending on how busy they are / whether they are VAT registered or not, whether they have an apprentice etc...
There isn't anything like that that would need doing. The wire comes out of the house CU, along the wall about a meter and through an overhead PVC* tube to the garage where it would meet the new CU. All I'd be able to do is wire up sockets and clip cables to the walls.Offer to do the donkey work? - i.e. dig the trench, pull cables through the underfloor space, etc
Looks like the abortion above my bathroom light fitting...took it down to sort out the ceiling...what came down was a mass of tape, choc blocks and disconnected earths.....
extended all the cables, crimped and heatshrink on all the joints, fitting didn't have loop in/loop out, so used a lever wago...much neater, much tidier and makes a lot more sense....
I have taken to using wagos when we do 100v line ceiling speakers, as you say a much better connection, quicker to install and you get the little test port at the side. I can not stand the push in or twist on connectors I keep seeing these days, I have found a few of the twist on ones are also self twist off connectors should the cables or fittings get disturbed or moved.I use wago connector, much better than connector blocks, I use chic cases or wago boxes to house them
did u get 4 blank plates with itMaker damm you!
It's all your fault that I've just spent the afternoon replacing my old 2 way gararge fuse board for a new 8 way one!
