Hmm, I'm miffed to hear that, I've had some good quotes for a Kingsland over the last couple of days, plus they're made in the UK.
What model have you got? What exactly don't you like on it?
Ta, Al.
had to reinforce the stripper 3 times and it still cracked so i made a new one
the peice the stripper bolts to has been reinforced
poor visibility of the cutting blade
nowhere to store the punches-sides on top of punch
no handle on the foot control which menas you have to kick to move-handle made
stripper spring is to weak-extra one fitted
no depth stop on shear-made one
blades chip easily
very cheap castors which jam easily
the retaining bolt for the die stripped its thread virtually immediately so a bloch had to be welded on the back to reinforce it
no square lines scribed on the table
no square clamp-made one
no attachment for repetive centres punching-made one
all of these problems are either noted or we have improved them
i think on a machine costing that much that its not good enough
i have only ever used a geka and a kingsland but the geka seemed better but i think it is more expensive
for relatively little extra cost most of these problems could be resolved
some were obvious before the machine was ever used
does make you think it was designed and sold without real world testing
