Interesting find, what's in the bag?

Clearing out the last corner of the house found a bag.

In the bag two rolls of strange string, two bags, one from the pharmacy marked 'chlorate de potasse ', potassium chlorate. The other bag is an old Spar coffee, bag but doesn't contain coffee.
Equally a corroded spoon and a small glass.

Potassium Chlorate reminded me of gun powder.

I chopped 3 inches of string, off and headed into the garden with a lighter, sure enough it's A Team style fuse.

What's in the other bag folks? Any ideas?

Ex owner used to make his own shotgun cartridges, I've a couple of jars of lead shot and a strange contraption to make the cartridges I guess.

Kevlar rope and poison.

No use to me.

Matchlock was always a white-ish to cream shade.
That way you could easily see the hot ends.

Hot and black powder = Not good.

It's definitely fuse, the second roll, works really well!

First roll could be waxed?

You can smell the sulphur.

I know nothing about chemistry.

Think I've some pots of sodium chloride in the shed, old pots of weed killer...

used top make fuses out of strips of newspaper dipped in salt peter solution and dried out then the real thing out of copper tube filled with sodium chlorate and sugar with a few more goodies chucked in it would be jail time now if u did it
