The other end of things is uninsured, none vat and tax registered traders are essentially stealing from bona-fide traders.
When it involves money past break even itsnot a hobby!
Only one answer really bite tge bullet and set up official and pay insurance, taxes and vat or pack it in.
First year or two is a killer on insurance, worse still if you haven't verifiable experiance and trsining. I had but for tge first two years i was paying £1500 or so pa. (pay less than a third of that now with buildings i didn't have back then to boo
boot).

I declare all income I make from my different sources/work, have an accountant, pay everything that is due/I owe.
Managed to find a company that do what I need, they're at the link for anyone else that is after the same thing, underwritten by Hiscox. Metalwork isn't an issue.
