sweat was dripping off my nose at 10:30 am on sunday, simply putting tools away in the shop....
FWIW they make a compressed air vortex tube with a belt mount for sandblasters, and anyone else that
must be covered up in the heat.

I made sure I was up the stables by first light for the "poo run" 20 odd bags barrowed to the muck heap and a few bags of shavings moved, done by 0830 before it got too warm.

I've had best part of a month doing "not a lot", 2 weeks a bit poorly then 2 weeks where it was too hot to do much outside until evening time.
Things are better this week but getting back up to speed is a slow process.

Summer is too hot, winter is too cold / dark / wet ...

Hi, I know, a quick simple job yesterday afternoon, wash the car in mostly the shade of the house. Because I live near the airport and back onto the London to Brighton Mainline the car paintwork is rough to the touch. So, hand compound (machine mop head has dried up and broken up), wash, leather off, wax on, wax off. Sweat pouring off my forehead into my eyes, can't see, wiping it makes it sore. It was doing nothing for my temper, had a rough night. Lazy day today. Going to try and cut the grass later because I didn't do it yesterday.

Global warming isn't all bad news. I just need to practice my 'Mediterranean shrug' develop the 'I'll get round to it at some point' timescale and start playing chequers in the shade whilst making derogatory comments about passers by with other old giffers.

I did a Summer season working for Sunsail based in Kos and sailing round the Dodecanese as the 'engineer' looking after the charter yachts in either '91 or '92. So I can tell you with absolute certainty that I could not cope with the heat in Crete/Greece, I'd end up as a desiccated husk.

The only way I survived my tenure was because I could just dive/fall/flop off the back of the boat to cool off, or get so hammered on complimentary drinks that I slept through most of the day.

Yes, and the burnt aviation fuel doesn't help either. I didn't realise until I was talking to a car Valeter who told me, but he had a type of acid wash to get rid of it. He did say that it couldn't be done too many times, I wasn't bothered because the car was up for sale.

im fortunate . live next to main line station and the winds are mainly south west . away from my house wasnt lucky yesterday mind washed and polished van and car washed the windows and frames on house . got up this morning and the whole lot covered in red dust aparently carried up with the wind from the sahara desert and dropped over england
