That's fine but it isn't the issue here, the OP has clearly stated they have moved house and are looking at job driving a mobile post office which will probably mean producing their licence hence the concern given the address is incorrect.

It doesn't really matter how you argue it, in simple terms it's an offence with a potential maximum fine of £1000. How likely that is to happen I don't know.

Just so there is no confusion about what someone's mate said or what a Youtuber posts, here is the official government webpage that very clearly states in bold type
You can be fined up to £1,000 if you do not tell DVLA when your address changes.

Sometimes one doesn’t have a fixed residency. I was all over the country and Europe so one could argue using a fixed address such as parental was only sensible option

even a judge wrongly implying that it does with a threat of a fine or imprisonment is wrong and any solicitor worth his salt would point out the judges error by using the reference above

dvla is not correctly worded, it tries to imply there is a fine on one hand yet with the other hand it quotes you can use another address as long as you have access to your post

it is also the same with the photocard police cars do not use photo identification within patrol stops as they give you a producal to appear at the local police station this is possible where your photocard is viewed

but anyone who gives over your name within a police stop is not arrested for falsely supplying your name to them as the police dont use photo id within there vehicles

i know this by experience.

a judge cannot try to enforce a precedent via wording that a d license must be addressed to the user when other words are within the page where an addressee can use alternatives

otherwise it will blank all foreign d license of ex pats therefore forcing them to get new d license in there area as much as it would force them to own property within this country that there d license is addressed too

that also has a knock on effect as it would blank alot of foreign uk workers with uk licences unless they have a uk address

as ive already proven your statement is incorrect

otherwise it wipes out loads of driving licenses as they are invalid and that includes the ones where people have moved abroad after selling up

as they have no fixed abode therefore there d license is invalid

so if you plan to move abroad you must have a residential address here in the uk to continue to drive in an eu country otherwise you have to take that countrys test to drive

As I pointed out to the OP, as long as you can receive official communications then you can use any nominated address.

That’s not what the guidance notes with my LGV renewal notice says.

Maybe LGV is different, but DVLA rules are quite clear that it needs to be an address at which you can be contacted.
