Having worked for a mega International American company (based in Allentown) for 30yrs I was amazed when I met my American counterpart whilst on a job in Oman circa 2005.UK is minimum 20days plus 8 bank holidays (bank holiday pay is not law - but most people get it).
To be honest - most people get 25days plus 8 paid bank hols.
Good firms will give service days - one paid holiday for every five years worked.

Whereas in Wales we're living 'high on the hog'.....this is england we get paid half as much and taxed to death
Having worked with a fair few mericans over the years, our terms and conditions here aren’t so bad. And I truly believe the train bunch are just extracting the michael, when compared to our health care professionalsHaving worked for a mega International American company (based in Allentown) for 30yrs I was amazed when I met my American counterpart whilst on a job in Oman circa 2005.
His pay, overtime and holiday entitlements were similar to Britain in the 50's or some such.
Very true and if they were building cars instead of "operaing a transport system" they'd all be down the road by now.And I truly believe the train bunch are just extracting the michael, when compared to our health care professionals
