He should be happy with the 8 plus. I got £250 for my wife's 8 and it wasn't a plus. It was really mint though, as are all her phones.

For you I would say get the one with the 3 cameras. The wide angle one captures a lot of a scene and the zoom can pick out detail from a distance.

Yep, the 8 is in near mint condition, I always get a new Tech21 case with any new phone

I believe Apple support their phones for five generations of iOS, Samsung only give you two (I won't be getting the new Android 10 on my Galaxy S8 for example).

Both my iphone and ipad stopped updating very soon after i bought them, and they were the current models. The samsung i have now, updates regularly and i have it over four years, all the apps work flawlessly still. I'd not go back to apple for any money.

The IPhone 11 is the quicker of the three. I got a good deal on the Pro Max.

I'm tempted to go back to an old school phone with buttons and I'm "only" only 31. Mind you I did spend yesterday (successfully) trying to get the Argocat out of a deepish Scottish bog. Had we not succeeded it was a call to the neighbour to lend a hand with his 6x6 "quad" now running duellies on the back. Mind you they'd got that bogged overnight so didn't know at the time if they'd got it out.

Touchscreen phones are crap when you've got peat bog all over you and it's peeing it down.

I went back to android from my old iPhone 4s just because they are cheaper and I can happily use either. My latest is a Huawei and it was easy to set up as it had an app that cloned my old phone. I can't fault this it is fast and takes good pictures and I can read the screen as it's a good size. A friend of mine puts his phone in a zip lock bag when he is doing dirty work. I just leave mine alone till I wash up.

Ive cut SIM cards down in the past
Downgraded from a note 3 (note 4 was doa) to a galaxy 2 for the better part of a year
Getting a pixel XL was a massive improvement and much appreciated.

When this one does il get the newest pixel I can find recon for a good price.
After being with Samsung for the last 5 years stock Android is a refreshing change without there bloat.

I have an aging Samsung Android phone. Wifey has been using a Huawei phone for six months and she likes it.

Think the next phone I have will be a smaller one - I don't use a phone for the internet much at all - I must be the lowest data user on the planet.

I may check my email if I am out - or expecting a job authorisation by email. Use Goggle maps - once a year.

One thing I have noted about an iPhone - they do better emojis for text.


It is always the speakers that fail on phones I have - I tend to buy waterproof dust proof phones.

Played about with finger prints but a 6 digit passcode is more secure and easy enough to punch in.

Having it on the back of the phone is just so natural, it's exactly where your finger normally sits, you can pull it out your pocket and comfortably have it unlocked before you can even see the screen.

Going back to a passcode is a deal-breaker for me I'm afraid...I'm not bothered if it's more secure, I'm too boring to have anything juicy on my phone.

Form over function irritates me and one of the main reasons I dislike apple products, sadly humanity is more interested in looks and status over functionality these days. The only reason I accepted the lack of 3.5mm jack is because Bluetooth headphones are actually more convenient. They should still have headphone jacks though!

Not the first time I've heard that comment tbh it doesn't surprise me in the slightest...
I borrowed a firms ifone for a weekend being a lifelong Android user to see what the fuss was about and couldn't wait to throw it back.
There's a lot of people do luv em tho and there's nowt wrong with a wee bit of competition...
