I do love a new Phone upgrade.

Had my Note 4 for 4 1/2 years now so time to upgrade as she's getting slow.
One gripe, The Phone arrived from Vodafone without a new sim card and the Note 4 sim is to big to fit so wasted a day getting to the shop for a free sim
Now playing with a Note 10+ 5g ready ( I suspect the Phone will die long before 5g gets to every street corner lol )
Finally got Finger Print recog that's actually works as the Note 4 was absolute carp, Had it 3 days now and just about got it setup.
Anyone else like a bit of new Tech or do you dread having to upgrade and start a nice steep learning curve

Next week I’ll be upgrading to a new iPhone. They are made for idiots like me. Quick back up of the old one, connect new one to laptop and away you go

Yep gone are the days of Manually typing in your old fone contacts to the new one

Plugged the Note 4 into the Note 10 via usb cable and transfer content you select to the new fone including Apps, Very old person savvy

Ive cut SIM cards down in the past
Downgraded from a note 3 (note 4 was doa) to a galaxy 2 for the better part of a year
Getting a pixel XL was a massive improvement and much appreciated.

When this one does il get the newest pixel I can find recon for a good price.
After being with Samsung for the last 5 years stock Android is a refreshing change without there bloat.

Old iphone to new iphone you just bring the phones close together and they do it automatically Parm. Not sure how 'old' you can go but my wife's iphone 8 swapped the content onto her new 11pro a couple of weeks ago with no issues. It literally kept everything, passwords, bookmarks, apps the lot.

well my phone came out roughly at the same time as the iphone and that has moved on about 10 generations now......I only got a new phone because I needed a new camera and the phone (sony ericsson k800i) had a better camera on it than my camera was on its own. I think I can safely say that Im happy with things as the are until the need to be replaced (normally means broken). and Ive got a couple of new phones stashed away just in case I break the one Im using.

Couldn't believe when I got my first smartphone how long they take to set up.

Dislike the fact you have to let nearly any app you use have access to everything for them to work.

My first indestructible smartphone died after 5 hours at 3 meters deep in a canal. (I got it out), too late.

Now got a Wiko, which I wouldn't recommend to anyone, but it was cheap, and does it's job, slowly.

What do you folks do with your iPhones when done? Would any of you be looking to sell? My Microsoft phone is so old now that I'm looking at the Music Magpie sort of sites for a second hand one and frankly an iPhone 7 would be an upgrade for me Rather give the money to a member than those peeps

I've just upgraded to a Huawei p30 pro from an iPhone 8, loving it so far and quite glad to be away from the infinite loop of iPhones I've been in.

Just got the IPhone 11 Pro Max, not a bad phone, but no home button more of a swipe up from the bottom.

All my apps work so far, not much else to report, other than the camera is next level!

Still haven’t got it set up properly, but it makes and takes caps, and my personal hotspot is working for nights out in the wagon

Mine are usually totally trashed by the time I'm ready to give them up, not worth selling so they get thrown in a drawer.

Had iphones and apple stuff in the past, never again. They stop doing software updates, encouraging you to buy newer stuff. I bought a samsung android phone and find it miles better.
Bought my niece an iphone 18 months ago and its knackered already, battery has given up, a lot of apps won't work as the phone needs to update which it can't.
I'll get her a samsung next.

Must admit mine are similar. I tend not to upgrade until I absolutely have to. Despite my rather technical job I just don't have the time or patience for mobile phones. On a phone I photo stuff, whatsapp, use the browser and text and call in that order. I have no need for anything else and would keep my current phone if it would continue support longer than December 31st and had a better camera.

I believe Apple support their phones for five generations of iOS, Samsung only give you two (I won't be getting the new Android 10 on my Galaxy S8 for example).

Android ten on my pixel. About the same age as the s8
And updated as soon as it's released not 6 months later once Samsung pull there finger our and install all there bloat before release.

I can’t make my mind up between the three iPhone 11 versions, I’ve got until the 28th October. Current phone is an 8 plus

I’m quite happy with my current iPhone 8 Plus. Only reason it’s getting upgraded is the youngest lad wants a new phone
