Hypertherm not working

Anyone know of anyone in mid wales who repairs hypertherm 30 plasma cutters I think the capacitor has blown as it went out with a pop

Depends where you are,there’s one in neath,forgot the name,then in England,Telford group. Escco in Hereford.

Had a look inside but tbh I don’t know that much about electronics. Doesn’t seem to be any burns or visible damage but again I don’t know. Surprised how well made the Hypertherm was inside and how spotless the machine was considering its a 2015 machine. My Oxford machines which I’ve pulled apart before have been covered in dust and crap. If this machine is not fixable or if it is I will probably sell it after being repaired. What machine would you guys recommend as I would like a Hypertherm 45 but sync system has put me off massively. Also been looking at the Oxford 751 but I don’t want to be disappointed if it’s not as nice or as good as my powermax 30xp. Obviously the Oxford would cut a lot thicker and quicker, but is it as easy to use and is the pilot arc like on it. Also consumables. Has anyone tried the Lincoln electric tomahawk 45 as that looks a lot cheaper to buy and I’ve been happy with my Lincoln outback. Is the Hypertherm 45 sync consumables a money grab or do they last a long time, as they cost £45 pounds a go. Could buy a lot of propane or acetylene for that sort of money. They need to re-think that policy at hypertherm.

Can you get a Hypertherm 65 to run on single phase. I have a 40amp single phase supply with a 32 amp plug but I can easily upgrade the cable and plug to 63 and 10mm as it’s less than 2 meters from meter

Yes, IIRC all the way up to the 85 machine will run on either flavor of electrons.
The 105 is 3 phase only.

What does iirc mean and have you seen it done in the uk cheers I assume it means pulling the back off and changing where the inputs cables go in to the machine and also plug?

That's pretty much how the plasma cutter was invented....

I can see that being reinvented, somehow, because that Oxford doesn't get hot or bothered by much, and gives a really nice stable supply....

Go to the Hypertherm website, and download the manual.
It will 'splain everyting.
