Very doubtful. We purchased a pair of trainers and had the rear adapted for a brace. Today it was fitted . Obviously a perfect fit as we had done all the testing previously. BUT the guy who was there asked how long the wife had been hyper extending around 20 years.......when asked if a brace existed he replied no.....im sure if you require it will be done on nhs ? rather than private
No she was under physio and ocupational therapist.Have you seen a knee specialist?
Probably no different to those available on amazon for £20-100. Theres a few adjustable hinged ones.am asking as some of the prices are insane (as is usual for disability products)
Just the person I needIm an Orthotic technician where i work we make bespoke orthotics for the N H S and private patients. Hyperextension K A F O's are fairly common. You need to be refered to the orthotic services at your local hospital should be fairly plain sailing after that.
Depends on the joint but, Id suggest its not fit for purpose and better to pursue a refund or manufacturer/shop to repair. What's the best glue to use on rubber?
That's after wearing for 30 mins..![]()
That's an adaptation from the orthotics department she got yesterday...Depends on the joint but, Id suggest its not fit for purpose and better to pursue a refund or manufacturer/shop to repair.
Have a photo of it?
Lots of videos on YT which may help for the knee/brace issue.
Yes mate . Two photos in first post.Have a photo? Is it a glue joint or stitching that failed?
Contact cement is good for rubber to rubber. Generally buff both parts, apply to both, let it flash of for 10 minutes. Heat both parts, press together for a several hours.
Wilko permenent rubber glue is a curing type, buff the parts, squirt it on, tape it up and leave 24hours.
That appears to be a posterior socket attatched to the shoe. With a posterior below knee splint or rizzoli splint that as i understand is to counter foot drop. Appliances can be made with medial and lateral knee joints to prevent hyperextension of the knee. These are available on the N H S. Is her foot hyperextending?Just the person I need

To be honest I don't know what I am after either. LolI use one of these for skiing following ACL surgery I'm not sure if it is quite what you are after but like you I found out the custom made ones were a small fortune.

The glue commonly used is renia ortec. Your problem may lie in the type of shoe you have the socket fitted to. Back in the day these sockets were fitted to solid block heels squishy modern trainers move and flex too much really and there in lies the problem.
I think Kram may have posted that one. I almost purchased it BUT did not understand this bit.https://www.allarduk.co.uk/products...ee-orthosis-for-hyperextension-control-p37586 This is an off the shelf orthotic but custom made devices are available for this problem.
Ah I can see pictures now. Thats never going to work as they have tried to fit the socket into the foam. It looks like a ridgid peice of steel, so all the flex is happening in the small glue joint. If that was a professional job I would report them for incompetence.Yes mate . Two photos in first post.
They have removed an oblong out of the heel to fit an oblong socket.
But it's coming apart either side of the socket.
