hydraulic assist for a bandsaw - where to get?

I think its the motor. its pretty much screams. Might look into sound-deadening it, but then your going to run into heat issues.

At this stage i have a lot of tools and I think this is the loudest. The compressor might be close, that's also very loud.

Is it belt drive? Normally screeching is an indication of belts slipping

I think it's just the nature of the machine. there is no belt drive on these saws. They are a geared direct drive off the motor to the blade drive wheel.

The motor should run quiet with no load on it. Perhaps if it's geared the meshing isn't quite right. Too loose and it will rattle too tight and it will whine. I find a piece of news paper between the gears is somewhat close to spot on.

I didn't mean to sound snotty, just some do have them and some don't. My friends auto saw had circular wire brushes but as said none of mine have had them, current saw is an Imet 280/60, brilliant saw

That's the same as my saw at work, completely agree, brilliant saw
