run in the opposite direction
i was joking...im not touching another french car again
run in the opposite direction
last tie it went like this the steering still worked...it doesnt now
might be worth looking for a large fuse and cleaning the contacts. Only saying this as I think your steering and your ECU both run on electrickery
a good tip for cleaning blade fuse contacts is to use an ordinary pencil rubber. It brings the blades up a treat
common to both / loss of 12v power ?its most likely moisture in the ECU/Fuse box again...last time it went like this the ECU board was wet and had blown a diode and resistor...i have components here that i can repair that with but the steering is the bit thats concerning me this time as its also electric
common to both / loss of 12v power ?
Go for a Mazda 3, they just work.
Neighbour replace his 53 reg Saab convertible as a daily with a 13 reg Mazda 3 diesel. Says not a patch on Saab quality so despite excellent economy has got Saab MOT'd to use again and is struggling to sell Mazda even though he's asking "bottom book".
Check the dash earths. They used to mount a lot of earths to a common point. Renault 5 used to earth all rear lights to one point. 8 point earth, in brass. for the rear lights. That would play up and cause all sorts of issues.
I think, but don't quote me but I thing the Renault had something similar.
If not check the ECU, and the dash for damage.
get that leak sorted slackerSee my above post...ECU was dripping wet again...its in the house now stripped down and drying off
cant knock that ideaI missed the reply about the ecu being wet.
Ok I will shut up and have a beer.
I take the ecu is mounted under the windscreen in some kind of housing lime many other vehicles.
My MG has the same idea, let's put a computer inside a box directly below the entry point of water, what could go wrong.
I've now drilled the wiper system cover so that I can rod the leak off holes to stop the ecu being flooded.
cant knock that idea
silicone is crap, get some seam sealer and dont forget the plug / cable entryits mounted just next to the battery, directly below a poorly designed rain gutter...it has a plastic cover over the top but its worse than pathetic...i covered the lot in silicon sealant last time it happened but obviosuly didnt work
pffft i dont have anyim having one too...
