An early example of a block driveway. If they had the same workforce and penny washers, way back when - Imagine what ihe pyramids would look like !!!!
you would laugh but its us suckers paying for it , then paying again while some greasy git in a suit gets paid a proper managers wage when he's never picked up a tool but has papers to say he knows it allCouncil employees , probably not bad blokes but managed by a "qualified " moron .
My now deceased father in law worked for Lockheed in the 70,sBack in the 1970's, we poured some 6'x6'x6' foundation blocks for an overhead crane rail with bolt templates provided for us. When the columns arrived, and before we unloaded, I noticed the base plates were the wrong size; so the shipment was sent back. A couple of weeks later the shipment came back, but instead of replacing the base plates, larger baseplates were just welded on, which made the columns too tall to fit under the overhead cable trays in the fuselage factory. An expensive cockup for Lockheed, but not for us as we only had the contract for foundations and erecting.
It was an interesting place to work. We were one of a small group of outside contractor's doing retrofitting and remodeling of various facilities. I could tell some story's, lol.My now deceased father in law worked for Lockheed in the 70,s
Maybe it's a replacement post with different bolt holes??Pretty much sums up the state of the UK at the moment...
Maybe one person set the studs and another was expected to bolt down...all on a tight "get the job done" timescale to keep the costs down.
Its still shlt work, any way you look at it.Maybe it's a replacement post with different bolt holes??
