The tap is tapered but the holes are deeper than I initially thought so it wasn't a problem. I helicoiled all 4 holes as per Colnerov's suggestion, it's all back together and it works perfectly, thanks for the help.

no seat is a good idear used to have bmx and grifter.
thinking back you never needed seat always stud up going like mad
