ill just post some pics up as I am unsure of the wiring schematic for this motor perhaps of of you guys know what needs to go where.
Yes, when you measure whilst stationary after it settles down you are just measuring the resistance of the winding, once it starts rotating whilst the resistance stays the same, there is an additional reactance which gives an overall higher reading so the measured impedance is the sum of the resistance (which you can measure accurately when stationary) and the reactance which will change value depending on the speed of rotation

well it blew the fuse with live connected to W2 with live connected to U1 it turned for about 20 seconds before it started to smoke and smell so I think it needs another connectionOh yeah, make sure that everything is earthed motor frame and equipment frame!
