Probably rough casting there so not true to the hole.

It’s well welll out of true on the inside edge unfortanatt.

Grab it by the OD away from the flat to turn the ID true then grab it by the ID to turn the OD

As has been mentioned just turn a plug with a shoulder and chap it in and hold with the centre, much quicker than having to throw on a 4 jaw or even reversing the jaws in the 3 jaw to grip the OD.

I always have bits of delrin lying around for stuff like that but anything will do.

stick it in the 4 jaw chuck skim half down turn it round clock it up and skim the rest .a 5 minute job

I don’t have a working 4 jaw or I would have done in in two hits.

Gurt nut and bolt to hold it ( or sleeve a not so gurt bolt), tool upside down in the toolpost and run lathe backwards.

its only a jack wheel stick it in a 3 jaw or as above nut and bolt and a couple of washers a 12 mm one will hold that in a chuck

It’s from a lovely EPCO jack that you can’t get the likes of nowadays.

Sometimes it’s just terrible to add up the hours in your head no matter how it looks in the end.

makes no odds how long it takes if u have the gear to do it its the satisfaction of doing so ive spent days making something that i could have bought for 200 quid and I could have gone out and earned 500 in the same time I have a large epco jack that I bought second hand for 50 quid 30ish years ago .just put some new seals in it and painted it

Sandblasting and Seals is the next job. We’ve used it for years but it’s time for some TLC now

Yes, that is true if doing it for yourself, as I assume Brad was. If doing it for a living though I think you would need to do things the quickest way possible or your customers would soon get annoyed. Then again if you are the only one around that can do such things then they may have no choice.
