Your reply took longer to type than it would take to do the jobAs has been mentioned just turn a plug with a shoulder and chap it in and hold with the centre, much quicker than having to throw on a 4 jaw or even reversing the jaws in the 3 jaw to grip the OD.
I always have bits of delrin lying around for stuff like that but anything will do.

its only a jack wheel stick it in a 3 jaw or as above nut and bolt and a couple of washers a 12 mm one will hold that in a chuckI don’t have a working 4 jaw or I would have done in in two hits.

Sometimes it’s just terrible to add up the hours in your head no matter how it looks in the end.
Sandblasting and Seals is the next job.
