How to get cutting oil stains out of a good t-shirt?

I only buy t shirts with a pocket but all the department stores have pocketless so have to go to Work Warehouse where they start at $20. a pop to $40. something.

if you have given up on the shirt then try using wd40 on it. I have used this to get oil stains out of clothing that I didn't mean to get oil stains on then normal wash afterwards

if nothing else it will slip on and off easier

Another vote for WD40.

Buy an identical one, tell her someone on here has come up with a formula that never fails, chuck it in the washer and when you get it out shout " bloody hell, it worked" save the old one for wiping the milling machine down with!

When I get oil stains on my stuff all I usually do is rub the oily spot area with Swarfega then mop it with a damp cloth and chuck it in the wash.

Tie dye it green and call it camouflaged for the Ukraine.

I assisted in taking a bunch of scouts to the USA, we had T shirts printed, I'm still wearing mine. It was 1997!

I think there's 3 options to be honest...


Option 1.... You go and buy a fancy diamond ring, and present it to her, tell her you made it, and were just doing the finishing touches on the lathe when you got splashed. The diamonds may take her mind off the tshirt...

Option 2.... You take it upon yourself to cook every meal for the next 3-5 years, cunningly wearing an apron to hide said stain when you wear the tshirt. If you don't do it when wearing other ones, she may suspect, so best to do all meals.

Option 3.. You 'fess up, and take the rap. Potentially even getting a few evenings to yourself out if it.

I tried a few years back to get an order through them for a load of Mk4 golf spares.

They are / were very strictly trade only so no dice.

Put something else on in the end if I remember right. Would have been 10 years back now

I keep forgetting the "trade only account thing".

But to be honest - trade discount means nothing in the motortrade now - it did at one time - but not now.

Ask your local charity shop if you want tee shirts for rags, most of them have unsellable items that go to rag dealers that then sell on to the likes of TPS.

A decent hand cleaner like proper swarfega would be my suggestion.

This works best before you put it though the washing machine.

I find it best just to buy cheap shirts from work wear supplier and not worry about stains. Lifes much simpler as a scruff
