Pics to follow, its a ball ache to remove the sump will any repairs work? Open to suggestions.
I guess you're thinking of non-welding repairs?
I think you might be up against it there, cleanliness being your problem for any kind of adhesive.I think so yes to weld I think i would need to remove it and cut out the rust and patch it, in that case i would be better off replacing the sump pattern parts are cheap
cheers mate, if i have to drop it i willI think you might be up against it there, cleanliness being your problem for any kind of adhesive.
You'd probably get away with just whacking a patch straight over the top but I wouldn't like to guess at what would be going on inside the sump while all that is going on!
Had similar issues on an old Corsa years ago but was lucky, the sump came off quite easily so was able to weld it up.
Good luck chap.

i am still debating keeping it with the mrs only had it a month!@123hotchef Japanese vehicles are never cheap for parts. But if it's a reliable vehicle & you want to keep it, Then I would spend the money on a replacement
oh yeh the stack pipes ben there a couple of weeks ago! lolSpares are crazy money for them , I had one and a rear fog light was 140 quid at the time , I bought a cracked lens only for 40 quid and was lucky to get that , probably a few more of them broken now though .. lift pipe for fuel on the top of the tank led me a merry dance too , minute rust hole in it and it was a raffle as to whether or not it would start , one to watch out for.
glad the sender gauge was separate , the pipe was only about thirty quid , if the gauge was included I would have needed a mortgage , bit rolly but you get used to them , great motor and good mpg , I enjoyed mine.oh yeh the stack pipes ben there a couple of weeks ago! lol
