I wasn't aware of that. I would have thought the glass flake would have been the best due to it's abrasion resistance. I am building a super heavy duty trailer which I will be shotblasting first. I wonder if glass flake over epoxy aluminium would be the way to go?

Here in Au we have a glass flake epoxy it is called 'Marathon'. The purpose of the glass flake is to make the paint abrasion resistant. Abrasion resistant is not the same as impact resistant. One of the main areas that 'Marathon' is used is on car ferry decks. The glass flake is embedded in the structure of the paint and as glass is hard reduces the paint wearing away. This marathon is also pretty abrasive on airless paint equipment due to the glass flake.
